![]() Nice, I've been wanting launchers I use to support horizontal mode for ages now, sadly I'm not using the default one/the google now one so this won't help me directly, but maybe having stock launchers that support horizontal mode will also encourage the devs of my current launcher to add this feature. Nova Launcher will even allow you to have landscape from the home screen if you want. You can customize which will be your home screen of the many screens you have. They don't even have to be in exact rows and columns. I have all my icons on the home screen, or in a folder in the home screen. I increased the columns and rows by one each. So, how is Nova for someone who's completely uninterested in any customization at all? Honest question: You talk about how with the stock launcher you "can't even customize" a bunch of stuff. And if you ever want to tweak settings, the Nova Settings app is organized very sensibly, and there's always "reset to defaults" in "backup and import settings" if you get in over your head. The stock settings are perfectly sensible, and in my experience, it gives better performance than Google Now Launcher. I don't use any widgets, for example - that might be different if it were a phone instead of a tablet.)įor those people, Nova is very good. All I want to do is make it so my most commonly used apps are one or two taps away, with as little effort as I can get away with. (I don't spend much time in the launcher on my tablet. Honest question: You talk about how with the stock launcher you "can't even customize a bunch of stuff. I mean, you still can't even customize how many rows and columns of app icons you have in Google Now Launcher, not to mention all the other customization that Nova offers (icon packs, different layouts for the app drawer, various aesthetic choices throughout the launcher interface, customizable multi-finger gestures, etc). Though I still think Nova Launcher > Google Now Launcher for anyone but a hardcore Google Now addict.
